MAIN INVESTMENT STRATEGIES

The fund invests in obligations issued or guaranteed by the various African governments or their instrumentalities. It may invest a substantial portion of assets in Treasury Bills of various central banks, but this policy is subject to change. The average maturity of the debt portion ranges between 90 days and 10 years. Bond Funds do not have front loads but carry a coupon rate at which redemption is exercised. Some funds may pay interest upfront to the bondholder. Some Bonds are non-discountable, while some have conversion features and are fully discountable by the bondholder.
